A Volterra i lavoratori dell'alabastro non aderirono mai al fascismo, magari rimasero isolati nelle loro botteghe o confinati da qualche parte, ma non si piegarono al regime, nascosero le armi e la stampa clandestina nei vuoti dei modelli in gesso per le sculture aspettando il momento buono per la rivoluzione.

Comunisti, socialisti, anarchici furono schedati dalla polizia lasciando negli archivi dei nemici politici i loro volti fieri che oggi il Collettivo Distillerie ha l'onore di mostrare.
